SENIOR officials of the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and Guatemala only last week completed the third leg of negotiations for the Partial Scope Agreement.

The final leg of the negotiations is scheduled to be held in Guatemala within the next few months.

Her Excellency Guisela Atalida Godinez Sazo, Ambassador sought the opportunity to reintroduce herself to Senator Vasant Bharath in his new capacity as Minister of Trade, Industry and Investment. The discussions focused on possible investment opportunities in Trinidad and Tobago by Guatemalan businessmen; coupled with reaffirmations of the issues currently being addressed in the negotiations.

The signing of the final agreement is scheduled for later this year in December, in Guatemala. Also in attendance was Ms. Edwina Leacock, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Trade, Industry and Investment.
