THE Islamic Broadcasting Network (IBN) and Muslim Social and Cultural Foundation (MSCF) of Trinidad and Tobago hosted its first ever Exposition last month at Mid Centre Mall, Chaguanas.

Trade Minister Vasant Bharath in delivering the feature address at the Opening Ceremony said that an Exposition of such magnitude sends a clear signal that business is thriving in Trinidad and Tobago. He highlighted some of the economic indicators that has improved since 2010 stating that, “the economy has experienced positive growth for the first time since 2008, inflation has been reduced, unemployment rate currently stands at five percent and the Heritage and Stabilization fund has increased from US $3.62 billion Dollars to US$ 4.7 billion” He assured the Muslim community that the Government is working towards improving the ease of doing business and rebuilding confidence to foster greater foreign and local investments.

Speaking to a packed audience, Mr Inshan Ishmael, Chairman of the MSCF said that the main objective of the Expo was to bring the Muslim community together in one location to showcase their goods and services and to fellowship.

Also delivering Remarks were Jamal Mohammed, Minister of Communications and Mayor of Chaguanas, Orlando Nagessar. Visitors were entertained by two international artistes, Irfan Makki and Milad Raza Qadri.
