Preparations for the Red Cross Children’s Carnival on February 11 are almost complete.

Speaking with Newsday yesterday at the Trinidad and Tobago Red Cross Society’s (TTRCS) headquarters at Fitzblackman Drive, Port-of-Spain Augustus Forde, First Aid Co-ordinator said more than 100 participants have registered including large, medium and small bands.

He said the initial registration of bands was slow but it has since picked up given that registration closes today at 4 pm.

“It was slow in the beginning but people possibly took time to organise their costumes, give them a name and put things in place. As the end of the day approaches we are seeing a faster movement with registration which is free,” he said.

He said the parade of bands will begin at 11 am at the Queen’s Park Savannah, Port-of-Spain and tickets cost $30 for adults and $20 for children under 12. The parade will also be shown live on Gayelle.
