THOUSANDS of revellers in a broad spectrum of every colour imaginable pounded the streets of Carnival city — Port-of-Spain — on Carnival Tuesday making the mas a spectacle of movement and energy.

PRODUCER of the five-time George Bailey Carnival Band of the Year, Brian MacFarlane, promised to take mas to a different level for Carnival 2012. But his presentation on Carnival Monday night at the Jean Pierre Complex did not seem to have quite the impact on the audience.

On Carnival Monday night Carnival bandleader Brian Mac Farlane staged a theatrical presentation at the Jean Pierre Complex in Port-of-Spain, as part of his presentation for Carnival 2012, Sanctification In Search Of.

The annual Carnival Talk Tent begins tomorrow at 8 pm with a special charity performance on behalf of the Rotary Club of Port-of-Spain. The show will continue until Sunday (February 26) at the Queen’s Hall Conference Centre.

The Carnival bacchanal for 2012 may be over but the “comedy bacchanal” is just beginning with the the opening of the 2012 comedy theatre season.

Esteemed composer, arranger, and steel pan player, Ray Holman, who holds the distinction of writing the composition specifically for the national steelband Panorama competition, will take guests down memory lane with his Carnival 2012 musical presentation, “Mama Dis Is Pan.”
