SAD AUNT: Glennis Agostini, aunt of murder victim Kendell 'Salty' Agostini who was gunned down yesterday....

A 25-YEAR-OLD Chaguanas man was gunned down, during the early morning hours yesterday, while liming at a bar located a stone’s throw away from the Chaguanas Police Station and Chaguanas Magistrates’ Court.

According to a police report, at about 1 am, Kendell “Salty” Agostini of Joseph Street, was liming at Traxx Bar when a man walked up to him and opened fire. Agostini who was shot in the chest and abdomen slumped to the ground where he died.

Agostini’s death came almost 15 months after his brother Jason “Troy” Agostini, 27, was gunned down. On June 5 2008, Jason was with a female friend at Beetham Gardens when he was gunned down.

Policemen from the nearby police station along with the District Medical Officer (DMO) arrived on the scene. The DMO ordered the body removed to the Forensic Science Centre in St James.

An investigating officer claimed Agostini was a suspect in a double murder.

The officer, however, revealed that preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects connected to Agostini’s murder reign may be from Chaguanas and Arouca.

Agostini’s aunt Glennis told Newsday that her nephew was taken into police custody several years ago for questioning for a murder but he was subsequently released and never re-arrested.

She admitted that Agostini was recently arrested and charged for possession of marijuana and this matter was pending before the courts.

Glennis said Agostini spent the entire day on Sunday with his five-year-old daughter Britney, “They were really close and he loved that child with his all.” No arrest has been made and investigations are continuing.
