VICTIM OF CRIME: Acting DPP Carla Brown-Antoine...

ACTING Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Carla Brown-Antoine became a victim of crime when her Santa Cruz home was broken into and a quantity of valuables including jewelry was stolen on Thursday.

But in a swift reaction, officers from the North-Eastern Division Task Force raided an abandoned house yesterday and recovered some of the stolen jewelry and arrested four men.

According to a police report, Brown-Antoine left for work at about seven o’clock on Thursday morning and when she returned home in the evening, she discovered the house broken into and over $20,000 in jewelry, a laptop and a 42-inch plasma screen television, missing.

The acting DPP immediately contacted the police and reported the burglary. A team of officers from the North-Eastern Division Task Force, acting on information, went to an abandoned house at La Canoa in Lower Santa Cruz and arrested four men.

The operation was led by Senior Superintendent Cummings and included Sgt James and PC Greenidge. Santa Cruz police are continuing investigations. Efforts to reach Brown-Antoine for comment proved futile.
