A MALONEY man is fighting for his life at hospital after being shot several times, in what police believe was a reprisal for the killing of another man who was fatally shot, 15 minutes earlier. The man of Building 21, Maloney Gardens, was standing at the staircase to his apartment at about 8 pm on Monday, when he was ambushed by gunmen who fired several shots, hitting him in the head, back and arm.

As he fell to the ground, the gunmen ran off. The man was taken to the Arima Health facility and later transferred to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex where he remains warded. Fifteen minutes earlier, 32-year-old Roger John was shot and killed at the Clayton Ince Recreation Ground in Maloney.

According to police reports, John of Parakeet Lane in Maloney, was liming at the recreation ground when a man walked up to him and shot him several times.
