COMMISSIONER of Police, James Philbert yesterday visited the elderly person at Granado Street, Sawmill Avenue, Barataria, whose home was wrecked on Tuesday, after an alleged shootout with two persons, whom officers reportedly killed.

Philbert assured the elderly man, identified as Mr Morgan, that he will render assistance for repairs to the house.

Philbert also confirmed that one of the men killed in the shootout was positively identified as a man who was wanted for about 25 murders, including the 2006 double murder of Sean Sandy and his common-law-wife Avalon Villafana, 24, who were both gunned down at their St Barb’s home.

It was reported that at about 11.15 am officers went to Morgan’s home where they were confronted by two men armed with guns identified as Tyrone ‘Spoon’ Browne and Hamza Friday. It was reported that the men opened fire on the police forcing them to shoot. Browne and Friday who were taken to hospital where they were pronounced dead on arrival.

Morgan said that his home was completely wrecked, including his gate and door broken down. Also, his bathroom was “a bloodbath, with blood splatters on its four walls, toilet seat and floor.”
