A man identified as Ian Einzey, 38, was gunned down at his Four Roads, Diego Martin home shortly after midnight on Friday.

According to police Einzey of LP 51, Gilkes Street, had just arrived home when several loud explosions were heard.

Neighbours told police they heard Einzey cry out for help after the loud explosions. When they investigated they found Einzey bleeding on the ground and gasping for breath. They then called police.

Officers who responded rushed the wounded man to the St James Medical Centre where he died.

Einzey reportedly lived alone. Police confirmed that he was shot three times about the body. Neighbours could not confirm if he was employed but, said he lived alone. Investigators said they do not suspect that the killing was gang-related.

However, they are unable to confirm the motive at this time.

Sgt Bartholomew of the Four Roads Police Station is conducting inquiries.
