A 19-YEAR-OLD schoolboy will appear before an Arima magistrate today charged with the murder of another schoolboy Kareem Hosein, 17.

The teen was detained last week Thursday, hours after Hosein was fatally stabbed.

The suspect was arrested at his Cleaver Heights, Arima home by police including ASP Johnny Abraham, Inspector Stanley Ramdeen and PC Sunil Ramoutar.

Yesterday, acting Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Roger Gaspard gave instructions to the police to charge the youth.

PC Phillip of the Homicide Investigations Bureau formally charged the teen.

Hosein, a YTEPP student was stabbed to death while on his way to classes at Arima Old Road.

Hosein was accosted by a youngster who demanded his cellphone.

He refused and during a struggle, was stabbed several times.

The stabbing death was witnessed by several of Hosein’s classmates.

They were interviewed and gave police key information which led to the arrest of the suspect.
