ACTING Commissioner of Police James Philbert yesterday expressed concern and worry over the execution of murder accused Peter Garcia, who was shot dead yesterday in the yard of the Rio Claro Magistrates’ Court.

In describing the execution as “callous and boldface”, Philbert said the incident clearly showed criminals have lost all respect for authority and persons in authority. “They have no concern for law and order and no measure of respect for the police.

This is the kind of thing you would see in a mobster movie. We do not applaud that in our country and we are going to do everything possible to reverse the situation,” Philbert said.

He urged officers to rise to the occasion and show the criminal element that the police are the ones in charge and not the criminals.

Philbert assured that the police are doing everything possible and using every bit of their resources to find the men responsible for Garcia’s murder and promised that when they are found that they will be brought to justice.
