A d v e r t i s e m e n t Cops hunt for three bandits
Thursday, October 22 2009 CENTRAL Division police officers are on the lookout for three bandits who are behind a series of robberies both in Chaguanas and Couva. The latest incident perpetrated by these criminals, according to police, occurred on Tuesday in Longdenville and Couva. In Couva, a businessman was chopped on the hand and then robbed of several thousand dollars worth of photographic equipment, cash and jewelry. According to a police report, at about 12.30 pm, three men of African descent entered a photo studio along the Old Southern Main Road in Couva and announced a hold-up. Police said the men ordered the 36-year-old owner of the store to hand over the cash, but he resisted and was chopped.
