A pregnant teenager was crushed to death by a runaway truck in Scarborough, Tobago on Wednesday night.

Police identified the victim as Shinelle Campbell, 18, of Calder Hall in Scarborough. According to a police report, Campbell was standing at the side of the road at Burnett Hill, uptown Scarborough, at about 8.30 pm when a truck rolled back on her.

The driver was proceeding up the hill but had trouble changing gears and the truckp rolled down crushing Campbell.

Scarborough police are continuing investigations.
