Police have arrested a second man wanted in connection with the slaying of murder accused Peter Garcia, who was shot dead while being escorted to the Rio Claro Magistrates’ Court on October 19, this year.

The suspect, estimated to be in his 30’s was arrested at the Piarco International Airport at about 9.30 am, moments before attempting to board an American Airlines flight destined for New York.

He is the second suspect to be arrested in 24 hours, after a man estimated to be in his late 20’s, was held by investigators late Friday.

Officers from the Organised Crime, Narcotics and Firearms Bureau arrested the suspect at Piarco, following instructions from the Homicide Bureau’s south office to be on the lookout for the men fingered in Garcia’s killing.

Garcia, a father of four, was shot by hit-men posing as construction workers, but toting high- powered firearms.
