Man goes on trial in June for Christopher Aleong’s murder

By Onika James Monday, March 8 2010

THE man accused of killing businessman Christopher Aleong will go on trial in June.

The June 1 date was set last week by Justice Malcolm Holdip, who was presiding in the Port-of-Spain Second Criminal Court.

Aleong, 68, was killed outside the driveway of his home at Hibiscus Drive, Petit Valley, on December 2, 2003.

Rudy Nelson, 39, is before the courts accused of killing Aleong.

Aleong was the owner of Kam Wah Restaurant, Mac Foods and Albrosco Ltd.

The prosecution intends to call 19 witnesses in the trial.

Selwyn Mohammed and Haseen Sheik are defending Nelson.
