A 21–year-old woman is warded at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex nursing a gun shot injury following an attack on the vehicle in which she was a passenger.

Police reports are that about 5.30am yesterday, the woman of Centre Ward, Blanchisseuse, was a passenger in the back seat of a car which was travelling north along Read Street, San Juan. Upon reaching a bridge, the car was shot at several times by a man who was standing on the pavement,.

The driver reportedly increased speed and escaped the scene of the incident. Upon looking back at the passenger, however, he noticed that the victim was hit in the neck. She was rushed to the hospital, where she is warded in a serious but stable condition.

WPC Registe of the San Juan Police is continuing investigations.
