A 37-YEAR-OLD Felicity businessman returned to his home shortly after midday yesterday to find a brown-coloured pitbull tied in front his gate and the owner nowhere in sight.

Frightened businessman Neil Ramsubhag, was unable to gain access to his premises because of where the dog was tied and sought assistance from the Chaguanas police.

Up until 6 pm yesterday no help came from the police. According to Ramsubhag, neighbours stayed indoors after the dog was left tied in front of his gate, while others issued threats to him thinking the dog belonged to him.

He said that when he called the Chaguanas police for assistance an officer asked him on the phone, “Is the dog bothering you?”, to which he replied, “yes”.

He said the officer promised to deal with the situation, but contacted at six o’clock last evening, Ramsubhag said the dog remained in front his home, tied with a thin chain to a concrete block.

Contacted for comment, ace Central Division crime-fighter Superintendent Johnny Abraham expressed surprise that police had not taken action and promised to have the matter dealt with.
