WESTERN Division police are on the hunt for a man who abducted and raped a 23-year-old Lange Park, Chaguanas woman during the early morning hours yesterday. Police reported that at about 12.30 am, the victim was in her car driving through St James when she stopped and asked a man along the roadway for directions.

The man said he would oblige by showing her where the destination she wanted to find was located, as he was heading in that direction. He then got into the woman’s white Honda Civic car. However, after they drove a short distance, the man pounced on the woman and quickly overpowered her. He drove the woman to a dark, lonely area in Chaguaramas where he proceeded to beat the woman, robbing her of a quantity of items. He then raped her.Corporal Gibbon and WPC Castello are continuing investigations.
