THE 20-YEAR-OLD son of businessman Jeremy Matouk was found hanging from the roof of his bedroom at 2 pm on Saturday, police reported yesterday. According to a police report Dominic Matouk telephoned his father on Saturday telling him he was going to hang himself in the Botanic Gardens after an argument with a female friend.

When relatives rushed to the Botanic Gardens to locate his son and convince him otherwise, the young man was not to be found. Relatives told police, on arrival at their Wainwright Street, St Clair home shortly after 2 pm, they found Dominic hanging from his neck by a rope which was attached to a rafter in his bedroom.

Officers of the St Clair Police Station under Corporal Carmichael went to the scene along with a district medical officer and the body was removed to the Forensic Science Centre in St James. An autopsy is expected to be carried out on the body today. Investigations are continuing.
