| CHRISTOPHER IS THAT YOU?: A worker sits atop the pedestal on which the historic statue of Christopher Columbus stood before it was taken down from the fountain at the square named in his honour at the corner of Independence Square and Duncan Street in Port-of-Spain for routine cleaning an initiative launched by the Port-of-Spain City Corporation to clean up sites of interest in the capital. Workers from construction firm Automatic Doors Ltd of Piarco were contracted to clean and repair the statue and also clean and refurbish, if necessary, the fountain at Columbus Square. |
