TRINIDAD and Tobago’s strategic marketing campaigns and other investments in the Hotel and Tourism sector in 2008-2009 saw significant results when TT copped the prestigious title of Island of the Year, by the Caribbean Travel Awards.

The Tourism Industry in Tobago was also boosted with the Awards for Best Boutique Hotel of the Year going to Blue Haven Hotel and Best Luxury Resort of the Year presented to the Coco Reef Hotel in Tobago.

At the recently concluded World Travel Market in Excel London, a global travel trade event presenting a diverse range of destinations and industry sectors to international travel professionals, Trinidad and Tobago’s delegates used these awards to their competitive advantage. Winning three Caribbean Travel Awards is among the highest global accolades for any destination, representing an island’s culture and unique attributes and serves as a guide of choice for many travellers.
