THE WRITERS Union of Trinidad and Tobago will host a Writing for Children Course from March 6 to April 17. The six-week course will be held at the NALIS Building, Port-of-Spain for all interested persons. By the end of this period all participants would have to produce one to three pieces for their chosen age group.

The course is for late teenagers and adults and will teach the dynamics of writing for children of all ages. Over the course attendees will be exposed to writing fiction, non-fiction, poetry and plays for little ones.

“A national problem is that our people — young and old — don’t read or only read when absolutely necessary,” said Van Stewart, President of Writers Union and contributor and editor for WUTT’s published book and magazine for children.

“Interesting reading material during children’s growth will arouse their reading and writing ability. By providing this material for them, we can form individuals better prepared for the world of adults.”
