MALE foxhound Gladiator lived up to his name when he turned back all rivals to take the coveted Best in Show award at the eighth Annual Hound Dog Walk organised by the Nariva/Mayaro Hunters Association at the bpTT Mayaro Resource Centre.

Under the expert handling of owner, Rajkumar Singh, of Sangre Grande, the sleek Gladiator walked off earlier with the first prize in his category of male foxhound.

Hundreds of dog lovers and hunters from all parts of Trinidad, including Paramin, Diego Martin, Sangre Grande, Cunupia, and Cedros, were treated to a top quality show, with renowned chief judge Tim Lumkin presented with a difficult task of choosing winners.

Daren Ali, President of the Nariva/Mayaro Hunters Association, said this year’s show was the best organised since its inception and was a timely opportunity for hunters to groom their dogs for the upcoming season.

MCs David Law and Bunny Phillip had the appreciative crowd in stitches with their witty comments. Main sponsors of the show were Barkkin Dogs Limited, Eukanoba, Alfred Bibby and Co, with all trophies donated by HMS Enterprises.
