THE St Francois Girls’ College Alumnae Association will host a Treasure Queen cruise, “Palancing on the Treasure Queen” tomorrow.

The association is aiming to give a significant boost to its fund raising goals, as it seeks to provide strong financial support for the on-going activities and projects of the college.

In the face of less financial support from Government sources, the college had embarked on a support programme for those students identified as having scholarship winning potential.

The plan called for providing these special students with the extra tuition required to compete for the limited number of scholarships being offered.

While the college has been quietly performing creditably over the years, the bold venture paid off as St Francois claimed five scholarships this year, it’s best ever performance in the scholarship realm.
