Chefs dish out a meal at last year's Tobago Culinary Festival....

Come with your appetite for some great food on Sunday at the Pigeon Point Heritage Park where the Division of Tourism will be hosting the eighth edition of the Tobago Culinary Festival since it was relocated from Mt Irvine Beach Facility.

Events Coordinator of the Tourism Division, John Arnold has noted how the food festival has grown in its scope, content, participation, programming and visitor arrivals. The use of the natural Heritage Park in Pigeon Point provided for more space and better ambience than what existed before. He believes that the location is ideally suited for the event and it most likely will remain a feature of the Park's schedule possibly until the Shaw Park Cultural Complex is ready for business.

The festival will feature a schools’ completion and an iron chef competition and it have a “kitchen stadium,” a special design built just for the food competition. For the first time, this year will have a wine zone and it will have wines from many different regions around to the world including local Tobago wines.

There will be more competition to this year's event, Arnold stated. He noted that based on the variety of foods that will be on display and the food competition itself, the festival has proven itself to be a major attraction.

It is a free event and there will be some free samples of food available.

Arnold said the goal is to make the festival one of the premier food and wine competitions in the Caribbean.

Next year the hope is to bring in international chefs that can add to the overall appeal of the event. In that way, Tobago will benefit by leaps and bounds as those international chefs brings with them their reputations and even other major players on the world food market Arnold added.

There will be plenty of entertainment reflective of the 50th anniversary celebrations of TT coming from the likes of Black Stalin, Baron, Super Blue, Explainer and more.
