Something’s fishy in Claxton Bay

Last Sunday the Claxton Bay Fishermen’s Association together with the Seafood Industry Development Company (SIDC) observed Fisherman’s Day 2012. The celebration included two cooking competitions, one featuring a fish pelau and the other fish broth. The competition was keenly contested and while some participants chose to reveal their secret ingredients, others were not so inclined. Fisherman’s Day is actually celebrated on June 29 (Friday), the feast day of the Christian Saint Peter, who, according to the Bible, was a fisherman when Jesus called him to be a disciple.
