Trivicon promises day of family funTuesday, July 10 2012
The July-August holidays are here and many children – and their parents – are looking for places to go and things to do. Trivicon is one event that is good for the entire family.
Trivicon is a celebration of popular culture; it combines animation, comic books and video games to appeal to the country’s youth. The primary aim of Trivicon is having a fun day for the entire family.
What will be on at Trivicon? Comicfest for one thing. There will be lots of comic books available to encourage reading and thinking skills. There will be free comic give-aways to patrons, including a number of comics written and drawn right here in Trinidad.
In the Artist Corner, local young artists would be invited to come meet indigenous artists who have successfully made their living through art. Here they can get guidance on what is required to get into art as a career.
The Animation Trivia Competition is a friendly competition that tests fans of all genres of Japanese Anime against one another in a match of wit and knowledge of their favourite Anime shows and comics. Lots of Anime movies will also be available.
The Gaming Zone features video arcade games as you like them. All the classics like Street fighter, Tekken etc.
Organisers are encouraging all patrons who would like to dress up like their favourite characters (Spidermnan, Naruto etc), to come in their best home-made outfits for Cosplay (costume play). A special door prize will be given to the best dressed on the day.
As an added attraction, Trivicon will have peddle cars which will provide lots of laughs and enjoyment for the entire family.
Trivicon will be held on August 4 at the Himalaya Club, corner of the Eastern Main Road and Third Avenue, Barataria, San Juan.
