On the Emancipation Day holiday, Carnival band YUMA presented to the public its costumes for 2013 at a gala launch and party at the Queen’s Park Savannah, Port-of-Spain.

The band will be taking to the streets come Carnival Monday and Tuesday in 13 sections under the theme, Imagine. Sections include “Iris,” “Magic Waters,” “Hidden Secrets,” “Galaxy,” “Nyx,” “Crazy Heart,” “Desert Storm,” “Genie,” “Spellbound,” “Aurora,” “Eden,” “Mirror Mirror,” and “Midnight Sun.”

According to a release from the band, YUMA is challenging masqueraders to “imagine a world where tales old and new, fictitious and true take the stage.”
