|Delegates invited to screening for Miss World TT 2013 |
Thursday, July 11 2013
With just over two months to go before the final of Miss World 2013 in Indonesia, the pressure is on for newly appointed interim National Director of the Miss World franchise for Trinidad and Tobago, Athaliah Samuel.
Samuel is the reigning Miss World Trinidad and Tobago and must crown her successor within the next two weeks in order to ensure this country is represented at the pageant, which will take place on September 28 in Indonesia
Samuel was assigned the franchise only one week ago, after the organisation initially approached was unable to accept.
Samuel has been granted the freedom to nominate a representative instead of having a local pageant which would be costly and time consuming. However, she has decided to have an open casting call to try to find the best prepared candidate to carry the title and hopefully win the crown.
One casting will be held. The best prepared delegate will be selected and will then undergo an intensive training regimen encompassing hair and make-up, speech and voice, physical fitness and conditioning and runway dynamics all in preparation for the rigours of the actual Miss World competition.
Young women between the ages of 18 and 25 are asked to send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org indicating their interest. Registration forms will then be sent to each prospective candidate via email. These forms must be completed and returned on the day of screening along with a passport sized photograph and a copy of each candidate’s Birth Certificate and title page from her passport. In addition to the age requirements, candidates must be height/weight proportionate, natural born female, must never have been married or involved in a common-law relationship, must not be pregnant, must never have been pregnant and must never have given birth, suffered a miscarriage or undergone an abortion. There are no height restrictions and young women from all walks of life and all geographical locations are being encouraged to attend the screening.
Any interested parties including sponsors can contact Samuel directly at 768-4907 or 331-4887.
