Thousands of visitors entered Angostura House, Laventille, over the past weekend and were immediately transported to the Isle of Rum, the third installment of the company’s annual Rum Festival, an event which incorporates learning and entertainment to showcase Angostura’s legacy and rich heritage.

The Heart of the Village Foundation of central Trinidad will be hosting a charity fund-raising event this Republic Day weekend at the Conquerors Grounds, Raghunanan Road, Enterprise. It will comprise two days of events: Sunday from 10 am to midnight and Monday from noon to 7 pm.

The Cunjal Community Council hosted its Independence celebrations recently with a show at the Cunjal Recreation Ground. It featured top comedian/chutney star Kenneth Supersad alongside the Rampersad Brothers Orchestra. There were also dances by Shakti Devi Dance Company lead by Dhristi Jankie and the Bollywood Dancers.
