NIZAM Ali, president of the El Socorro Taxi Drivers Association, has thanked the San Juan/ Laventille Regional Corporation for covering an open manhole on El Socorro Road.

He had complained that the manhole was uncovered for over six months and this led to several people being injured after they fell into it.

Ali said pedestrians were forced to walk on the road because of the open manhole.

Hotline highlighted the problem in December, last year, and yesterday, Ali said a concrete slab was placed over the manhole earlier this month. “It is properly sealed,” he said.
