THE TRINIDAD and Tobago Electricity Commission (TTEC) has responded to pleas by residents of Malabar Branch Road, Arima, to replace a faulty street light in the area.

Residents called Hotline to complain about the streetlight on LP 53, saying it had been flickering since October, last year. They asked that it be replaced because the area was dark at night. Officials at TTEC told Hotline yesterday, the streetlight was replaced on March 4.

Also, the commission has suggested that Ernest Archibald, of Garnet Hill, La Canoa, Village, Santa Cruz, come in to their Distribution Office (North) on Flament Street, Port-of-Spain, to make arrangements for TTEC to cut the supply of electricity to a pole (LP 519) which is entangled in the branches of a chataigne tree.

Archibald said he needed assistance to cut the tree.

Officials at TTEC said while it will be Archibald’s responsibility to bear the cost of cutting the tree, they can assist by making arrangements by cutting the power to the lines on the pole, to cut the tree and supervise the exercise.
