THE EDITOR: The COP is a party with lots of talented, honourable and distinguished members. It was born as a consequence of serious and fully justified disagreements with UNC leader Basdeo Panday who could not be trusted and who gave members no hope of returning to the Government of TT.

Kamla was able to convincingly cut Panday’s ... and she has now become leader of the UNC. Kamla has shown that she has great leadership skills and the greatest potential to make the UNC victorious at the next election. Her success in the UNC internal election, is an event that Trinidad and Tobago eagerly looked forward to and welcomed.

I think I speak for many COP members like myself who are concerned about the delay in reuniting the COP with the UNC. It seems clear that an early reunification of the COP with the UNC will enhance our chances of removing the corrupt PNM Government.

I am not a member of the UNC. However I look forward to supporting the reunited UNC in the next General Election.
