I believe the Trinidad and Tobago Government have been “hoodwinked” to borrow a term from the writer John Perkins, who exposed the dirty work carried out by “Economic Hit Man (EHM)” in The Confessions of an EHM.

The revelations, secrecy and plundering of the nation’s wealth have all the classic symptoms and results described by Mr Perkins in his work. Trinidad and Tobago is on the way to becoming an Ecuador and Panama, the debts to the World Bank and the IMF are greater than can be afforded or repayable.



The vultures will move in (reference Greg Palast’s works for the BBC) to buy up the credit owed to these bodies at a way lower cost and will then demand full payment with interest from Trinidad and Tobago.



Welcome to the First World, more debt than Trinidad and Tobago can ever pay off. They have what they were after, check the smelter Plant, Petrotrin and others, who is lending the monies for these mega projects? Iceland was there and the vultures got them now, just like Zambia borrowing $15M from Romania, selling out the loan for $3M to a vulture that bought it and is now demanding $40M in total payments from a poor country.



Corruption is the road to where we are now, predatory capitalism like a virus has infected the island. Why do you think Venezuela and Bolivia want nothing from the World Bank, The IMF and the Corporations that come bearing gifts.
