THE EDITOR: About one year ago I wrote suggesting that what we badly need in this country is an entertainment/amusement park /coney Island type centre. Call it what you may, but when on a weekend people need to take the children out somewhere for a little R&R and the only place they have to take them (apart from the beach) is to the malls, that really tells you something, dosn’t it? The previous government did not see the need for one as is evident in what they chose to spend hundreds of millions on instead. Hopefully the new regime will agree with me. Apart from giving people somewhere to go on weekends, the facility will obviously generate badly needed revenue (entrance fee, cost of rides etc) while at the same time provide employment for many eg attendants, cleaners, operators, maintenance technicians, food vendors, security, need I go on? Does anyone think that it would be money more badly spent than what we have experienced so far?
