THE EDITOR: The best way to understand a leading member of the People’s Partnership Government is to take whatever he says and make it into an opposite. What do I mean by this? I mean if he says that the Highway Re-route Movement is firebombing homes in Debe, it means that either this politician’s agent in Debe is firebombing his own home (for propaganda effect) or he intends to break the camp of the Highway Re-route Movement, and he is trying to demonise them in public before doing so.

If he says that the protesters are all from outside the Debe to San Francique area it means that 98 to 99 percent live in the Debe to Mon Desir area. If he says that there is only one family protesting, it means, there are hundreds plus one families protesting, if he says the Debe to Mon Desir highway would be reviewed or halted, it means that he intends to continue full steam ahead.

If he says the Highway Re-route Movement is made up of professional protesters, it really means that the people protesting are authentic residents of the Debe to Mon Desir area, who have been living there for generations, who are empowered, who have a stable system of land inheritance and tenure, who are peaceful and law-abiding citizens, who do not rely on the government for hampers and handouts, and who are fighting for the very survival, of communities in which they feel at peace and at home.

He takes truth and turns it on its own head. But I know how to interpret this man of opposites. Everything he says, just believe the opposite and you would be correct in your interpretation in what he is saying. Simple.
