THE EDITOR: Finally there is a political party and a political leader who is willing to put principles ahead of “eating ah food”.

I want to applaud David Abdulah and the MSJ for insisting that the People’s Partnership government stand by the Fyzabad Declaration because it was this document that was used to get public support. Now that they have tasted power, the Fyzabad Declaration is thrown away as the old PNM-style governance takes over.

I want to warn Abdulah that the guns will now be trained directly at him and his name will be dragged through the mud with all kinds of accusations and personal attacks.

The Government cannot respond to the issues so that just like the PNM, they will resort to personal abuse and this has already started. But the issues that the MSJ are raising will not go away and matters of corruption and nepotism will remain very important to the public.
