THE EDITOR: The implementation of the Ministry of Education (MOE) Continuous Assessment Component (CAC) is overkill and no proper consultation for both teachers and parents, not to mention the children.

They have attempted to fast track this process without putting the facilities, tools, and trained personnel in place. The idea is great, but this process should start at Standard 1 level and training for teachers should not be two workshops.

Most, if not all, the schools don’t have the resources to do so, nor did the ministry get the required professional to administer the new initiative for the respective schools.

I am making an appeal to the Minister of Education to rethink the whole process and stop placing our children and teachers under undue stress.
