Political thuggery at Boissiere bar

Wednesday, October 23 2013

THE EDITOR: I am a member of the COP. On Monday October 14, our party was holding a meeting near to Boissiere Village No 1.

Dressed in my COP t-shirt, I went to collect a fellow supporter in the area and in so doing passed in front of a bar on Vallot Street.

Never having gone into that village before, I was shocked by what I underwent. What can only be described as a gang of thugs was collected in the bar together with some young females in vulgar attire.

When they saw me, they proceeded to curse four letter words and say in the most violent way what they would do to COP supporters.

A fearsome looking fat thug roared at me that if I knew what was good I better move as he owned the village.

While this was going on, his followers — including the females and some children who were inside, yes, inside the bar were laughing and egging him on. I am not ashamed to tell you that I literally was shaking as I made my way past this terrorising gang.

When I met my friend he informed me this is what is now going on in Boissiere as the bar is home to drug dealers, criminals and gang members and the police refuse to help. In fact he said it is alleged there is a facebook video of the gangleader and friends running the police from the village in an altercation.

Well we have really reached in this country where a mature law-abiding citizen as myself cannot walk the road in peace. I cannot believe that such a low-life rum shop, you might expect in the worst ghetto could exist a stone’s throw from St Clair Police Station, Ellerslie Plaza and Federation Park.

Let us hope our new Minister of National Security will address this crime hotspot where gangsters are openly parading the street,
