THE EDITOR: Over the years politicians in our country have never showed interest in participating in a National debate prior to general elections and it’s high time they do so in a most meaningful, intelligent and positive manner.

Leave the picong, mudslinging and all the derogatory remarks “which incidentally serve absolutely no useful purpose” up to the comics and calypsonians who entertain at shows. Messrs Manning, Panday and Warner ought to accept Mr Dookeran’s invitation to a National debate now!
