Yesterday, at the men’s Spring 2010 collections in Paris, Trinbagonian Ryan Rocke walked the runway for Givenchy’s menswear collection. Represented by locally-based Calvin French, Rocke also tested with world-renowned photographer Bruce Weber for an upcoming campaign for the all American clothing giant Abercrombie & Fitch.

Ryan shared that “the experience was good fun” and that he also “had the opportunity to be featured in Givenchy’s Look-Book, where only two models had been selected”. This book is produced and distributed to all outlets and clients worldwide.

Rocke, 19, is the son of Trinidadian Lisa Henzell. He is currently a student at the University of the West Indies.

Interestingly, Riccardo Tisci (Givenchy’s designer) was responsible for costumes for Michael Jackson’s planned (and sold out) world tour.

The collaboration inspired the gold-star-studded pieces the designer showed in Givenchy’s new menswear collection and then destiny intervened — meaning those pieces may eventually be Elvis-like holy relics. Ryan wears one of those pieces.
