Woodbrook police are probing the robbery and beating of two Chinese nationals who were discovered bruised and battered outside a private members’ club on Ariapita Avenue, early yesterday morning.

The victims were reportedly robbed of over $20,000 in cash as well as a gold ring and chain worth almost $24,000.

According to reports, a passer-by noticed the men stumbling out of the Diamond private members club on Ariapita Avenue, shortly after the break of dawn yesterday.

The victims, who are also employees of the establishment, were bloodied from the beating they received.

They told police that they were accosted by two men inside the business place and were severely beaten about their bodies. The men then took the cash made from the previous night and also robbed the men before running off.

The victims were resting in stable condition at the Port-of-Spain General Hospital.
