ONE WORKER was sliced to death, while another critically wounded yesterday, in what was described as a freak accident at a glass company in Caroni.

According to a police report, at about 4 pm Earl Rampersad, 36, and another worker, whose identity is still to be released were at their workplace, at Delta Glass, Frederick Settlement, when tragedy struck.

Police said the two were attempting to take down a glass pane when it slipped and fell onto the two men, pinning them to the ground.

Police said Rampersad died on the scene.

His body, police said, was sliced in several pieces.

The other worker was taken to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in Mount Hope where he was treated and warded in a critical condition.

Investigations are continuing.
