FIVE men, among them a teenager, will appear before a Princes Town magistrate today charged with the murder of retired police sergeant Harripersad Ramkissoon.

Yesterday the men were charged by WPC Williams following investigations headed by Insp Brian Kennedy with the assistance of Sergeants Sean Dhilpaul and Anderson Parriman of the South Homicide Bureau.

Ramkissoon’s body was discovered on last week Monday at his home located at Cottage Road, St Johns Village, San Fernando.

Ramkissoon’s hands were tied and mouth gagged and an autopsy report stated that the 64-year-old died from asphyxia due to gagging. The house was ransacked and his two cars, a Nissan B 13 and B 14 were discovered missing. Less than 24 hours after the murder, police investigators launched a massive investigation and arrested three suspects.

The investigations continued and police arrested the two other persons during the week. The suspects are from Pleasantville, Marabella and Cottage Road.
