Beaten Chinese national on the mend

ONE OF the badly beaten Chinese nationals, Quan Took Wong, was yesterday discharged from the Port-of-Spain General Hospital (PoSGH). Quan who underwent reconstructive surgery to his jaw, at St Clair Medical Hospital in St James on Tuesday, was yesterday said to be in good condition and was subsequently discharged shortly before noon. Quan’s co-worker, Pin Cao Xuen remains warded at the PoSGH but is recovering “at a satisfactory rate”, according to doctors. When Newsday visited Cao, he was relaxing on his hospital bed and making a few calls on his cellular phone. He said he was feeling much better although “my head still hurts”.
