Chaguanas West MP Jack Warner has provided over 50 school hampers to primary school students in his constituency and that of Couva North.

The school hampers which were delivered to primary school pupils before the opening of the new term consisted of school bags, each containing notebooks, pens, pencils, reading books and other stationery supplies.

Warner is in England on FIFA business but insisted on a timely delivery before the new school term, a statement from his office said.

Warner said that, “this project was conceptualised out of a need to provide for the needy students in my constituency. I was also approached by scores of parents in Couva North who complained of not seeing their MP and was therefore encouraged to extend the gesture to the needy children there.

“I have been touched by the response from constituents of Couva North and have no alternative but to treat them as my own. My efforts in Chaguanas West shall where possible, be extended to the neglected constituents of Couva North,” he said in the statement.
