TRINIDAD and Tobago “is in need of divine intervention” to save it from the many evils it now faces. In the Sanatan Dharma Maha Sabha’s Independence Day message, secretary-general Sat Maharaj expressed horror at the increasing number of murders taking place, noting that many of the victims were young people.

He said the Maha Sabha was deeply saddened by the deaths of six young children two weeks ago while they were on their way to see the Great Balls of Fire charity match at the Queens Park Oval and the deaths of six members of a family in a fire at their Couva home.
