Relatives of San Fernando businessman, Eric Sooklal, yesterday continued their public appeal for help in locating the elderly man who went missing last Wednesday.

Police said Sooklal, 72, of Robert Road, Phillipine, San Fernando left his home around 7.30 am on Wednesday to go to his business complex at S S Erin Road, Duncan Village to feed and tie his dogs but has not been seen, or heard from since.

Yesterday concerned relatives renewed their call for anyone with knowledge of his whereabouts to contact them.

Sooklal’s daughter Anita Lochan told Newsday that their father who underwent by pass surgery suffers from hypertension.

She said: “He needs his medication and one week has passed and not a word as to his whereabouts. No one has called — there has been no ransom demands. We don’t understand what is going on.”

She said anyone with information can contact the nearest police station or call 795-9000.

Meanwhile Anti-Kidnapping Squad has joined the search for missing Guayaguayare fisherman Ken Louison. He disappeared from his home three weeks ago. Police said relatives told officers at the Mayaro Police Station that Louison was taken in a car by two strange men..

According to a police report, around 1.30 pm on August 18, a relative reported that Louison of La Savanne Circular Road, Guayaguayare was standing a short distance from his home when two men grabbed him and forced him into a vehicle before driving off with him.

A report was made to the Mayaro Police Station — however investigators stated that no proper description of the alleged abductors was given, or neither is the registration number of the vehicle known.

A senior officer told Newsday: “Anti Kidnapping has joined the search but we have no leads as to his whereabouts. Louison’s family is also staying in contact with us.
