DANGER AHEAD: Marilyn Inniss looks at the damage done to the driveway of her St Augustine home which she claims, was caused by WASA workmen....

MARILYN INNISS is demanding the workers from State utility, the Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) repair major damage to the driveway at the front of her St Augustine home.

Inniss who walks with the aid of a cane claimed that the once concrete driveway was dug up a week ago by WASA workers to get to buried pipelines which were in need of repair.

However, when the workers left, they did not fix the damaged driveway. To add insult to injury, Inniss claimed the leaking underground pipe was not repaired.

Inniss told The People’s Newspaper that she made several complaints to WASA in October over poor water pressure at her home and a leaking underwater main.

She said that WASA workers visited her home on October 24, dug up the driveway to get to the leaking pipe. After several hours, the workmen left.

Inniss said that when she saw the state her driveway was in, she immediately telephoned WASA and demanded that they repair her damaged driveway which was transformed into muddy, uneven ground.

She added that several calls about the leaking water-line and damaged driveway to WASA have gone unanswered. Stating that she walks with the aid of a cane, Inniss said she risked serious injury by having to walk on the uneven mud-filled driveway. When The People’s Newspaper contacted WASA, an official took the report and promised that they would investigate Inniss’ complaints.
