ALTHOUGH Chris Ramkahawalan was only six, in his short life, he left a great impact on all those who knew him.

This was the general consensus among mourners yesterday during his funeral service at Lily Trace in De Gannes Village, Siparia.

From as early as 10 am, bereaved villagers, family members and others gathered to pay their final respects for the First Year pupil of Londgenville Presbyterian School.

The boy died on Sunday in Caroni when a car driven by his father Anthony, crashed into another vehicle and subsequently burst into flames. The boy’s father and another occupant Rishi ‘Mookesh’ Capildeo and the driver of the other car escaped with minor injuries. Anthony later discovered the charred remains of his son inside the car.

Both Chris’ father Anthony and mother Asha Chaitram had to be consoled by relatives as the sealed coffin arrived at the house of mourning.

Relative Kern Bess in delivering the eulogy described Chris as a boy who lived an active life.

“He made himself comfortable anywhere he was and was always willing to play and share with others. He was never afraid to express his true feelings and say what he liked in particular, when it came to food and music,” Bess said.

Following the service, Chris was cremated at the Mosquito Creek, La Romaine.
